Whether formal or informal, the emails have given us the freedom to send and receive the messages to anyone in any corner of the world within no time. However, almost everyone knows how to send and receive the emails. But, only a few know, if once a message is deleted, either intentionally or accidentally, then how to recover deleted emails? Hence, we will look into the various important steps through which you will be able to recover all the emails, which you have deleted or accidentally were deleted. What Is An E-Mail?

Before looking into the various ways of recovering the deleted emails, let’s have the brief look on what exactly email is? I know the majority of you may know about it and all the other aspects of it. However, there are some who have no idea about emails, so for those, the technical definition is given here. An ideal electronic mail, email for short, is sending or receiving of the messages through the help of the network of communications.

Messages are sent by typing in the things with the help of a keyboard, or sometimes by attaching the files; those are stored into the hard disk of the computer. There are numerous computer networks, mainframe minicomputers that have inbuilt feature to send and receive emails systems.

There are primarily two types of electronic mail systems. First, that is only limited to the network or system of only one computer. Second, where the computer systems have gateways attached to other computer systems and hence, can send emails all around the world.

The majority of companies, those are into big businesses, rely on the emails with gateways to other systems, so that the emails they send are highly secured, reliable, fast and flexible.

Many of you might have sent and received the emails numerous times, however for those who are new, let’s have a brief look as what a standard email consists of. If you open the compose mail screen, after logging into your account, you can see numerous text boxes, buttons and bars in front of you. Each button, text box and bars have their specific use while you send an email. Some of the features of the buttons and text boxes present there are described as follows:

When you open yours compose mail screen, the first thing you see is a dialog box, at the side of which ‘To’ is written. In this box, you enter the email id of the recipient.

CC

Also known as the ‘Carbon Copy’, and is used when you want to send the same copy of the mail to someone else.

BCC

Abbreviated as ‘Blind Carbon Copy’, its function is completely same as the CC. Except whomever’s email id will be written in this text box, the other people will not be able to know that you have sent the mail to someone else.

Subject

In the ‘Subject’ line of your mail, you describe, in no more than one or two words, the purpose of writing the email to the concerned person. In this, way the receiver may have a basic idea about the mail which you have sent to him. So, these were some prominent things that you see every time you send an email to anyone.

However, there are times, when you are too excited to read someone’s mail but accidently you have deleted it. Do not worry; there are numerous ways to recover deleted emails. Let’s look at some of them.

How To Retrieve Deleted Emails?

The first way to recover the deleted mails is via using the web-based email. In such case, you need to check the trash folder of your email. The reason is, when you delete your mail; first it goes to the trash folder. It is same as the Windows recycle bin. The only difference between the Recycle Bin and Trash Folder is, in Recycle Bin; the material is there unless you do not delete it permanently. On the other hand, in the Trash folder of your email, if you will not recycle the mail within 30 days, it will be deleted permanently.

So, to recover mail from the trash folder is very easy, just go to the folder, select the mail and click on the ‘Move To’ option, and select inbox. Once you have been through the entire process, your deleted mail will move back to your inbox folder from the trash folder. To ensure yourself, always crosscheck whether your mail has been retrieved or not.

The second way to retrieve your deleted email is via using the ‘Recover Deleted Items’ button. However, this is possible only for the users of Outlook. If, accidentally you have deleted the mail, you can get it back. The only thing mandatory in such case is for you to use the Microsoft Exchange Server. If you are using it, then it becomes too easy to recover your deleted emails. Just click on the folder tab and then click on “Recover Deleted Items” button, and Outlook will try to get back all the deleted items from its server, also known as the Exchange Server.

So, these were some important ways of retrieving deleted emails. However, your emails are not always get deleted. There may be times, because of the overcrowded inbox, they may get lost also. Hence, in such case, try searching for your mail by typing in the search mailbox at the top of your email. There are chances that you will find it.
