Learn How to Unlock an Android Phone in 2016: Easier Than it Sounds
Luckily for you, there are a number of ways to answer the question, “how to unlock an Android phone?” without having to visit a service center. Let’s take a look at a few of the options you have:The main reason why we set up lock screen security on our smartphones is to keep other people from being able to access them and read our messages or view our private pictures. Also, you wouldn’t want for anyone who stole your phone to get direct access to emails, pictures or sensitive data. But what if you can’t access your phone? Maybe you forgot your pattern or PIN. Or someone pranked you by changing them.
How to unlock my phone
The first option you have is to use the ADM (Android Device Manager) to unlock your phone. The only pre-requisite with this is that it will need to be enabled before you lock your phone.
Using your computer or any other smartphone, go to google.com/android/devicemanager. Then sign in with the Google account used on your phone. In the interface, choose the device that you have to unlock and choose “Lock.” You will be asked to enter a temporary password here. Enter the password and click on ‘Lock’ again. You will see a confirmation if this is successful.
Simply pick up your phone, enter the temporary password you just set and this will unlock your phone. Simply remove the temporary password once you have unlocked your phone and set a new password/pattern of your choosing. It’s as simple as that.
Now, let’s look at another way of gaining access to your smartphone when you’ve forgotten the pattern lock. Here are some simple steps for you to follow:
Step #1: Switch the device off using the power button. If you aren’t able to switch it off, simply remove the battery, and it will shut down.
Step #2: Press the Volume Up, Power and Home key at the same time. This will boot you into recovery mode.
Step #3: Here you will find options like “Restore factory defaults,” “Delete all user data,” “Wipe data,” etc. Choose whichever option you find most suitable and your phone will reboot.
And just like that, your smartphone will be unlocked. Who knew it would be that easy?

The only problem with the above method is that you are going to lose all of your data. If you have a backup, this will not be a problem. But what if you don’t? You could end up losing everything. There is one other option for you to consider.
You can download an app called Screen Lock Bypass Pro. It will take care of everything for you. The only catch is, you would need to have installed the app on your smartphone before being locked out of it. Another problem is that this app will not work on smartphones with Android OS 4.1 and above. It’s a premium app too so you’re going to have to pay for it. Not one of the best options out there for sure.
You can use your Google login to unlock any Android phones that have been locked with a pattern. This will only work on Android 4.4 and below, though.Unlock that phone
But if you’ve updated your phone to Android 5.0 (Lollipop), there’s a much simpler option out there for you. All you have to do is enter the wrong pattern 5 times and you will be shown the ‘Forgot Pattern’ option. Here, you can enter your backup pin or Google login to get into your phone. That’s all it takes for you to get into your phone.
Unlock any phone
It may be possible that none of the options mentioned above are helping you get anywhere with your device. But there are a few more things you can try. These tips are sure to unlock just about any phone. Not all of them have been tested, but people have confirmed that they do work.
The first thing you should do is to go to settings and try to remove or change the pattern or pin. Take a few guesses and hope it works. Otherwise, this trick will not help you with much more than getting into your phone once.
At the end of the day, you can always reset your phone to factory settings. You are going to lose all the data on your phone this way. So keep it as a last resort. On the plus side, if you took a backup of your smartphone recently, you can restore your data from there and will only lose data that has not been backed up yet.
Method #1: What happens if your mobile data and WiFi connections are off? Without access to the internet, you will not be able to do anything. There is one way to get the WiFi working on your phone. This is a method that was used on LG phones and may not work on any other since it relies on the “Quick Memo” app native to LG.
1.) Press the volume up key and hold it till “Quick Memo” launches.
2.) Draw anything random into it.
3.) Tap on the sharing button and choose “SmartShare.”
4.) This should activate the WiFi and Bluetooth on your smartphone. Make sure you are near a WiFi network which your phone can connect to automatically.
5.) Once you are connected to WiFi, you can use any of the above methods to unlock your phone.
Method #2: This method will help you unlock the phone, but it will not solve the problem of the pattern lock. So if your phone locks again, you will be back to square one.
1.) Call your phone from any other device.
2.) Answer the call from the locked device and then hit the back button.
3.) That’s it, you should have complete access to your smartphone.
